The Coalition for Public Understanding of Science (COPUS) is celebrating Chemistry this month. In this article, widely distributed by COPUS, Paul Shin, Chemical Instrumentation Manager with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University, reminds us that we are all scientists exploring the world around us and making sense of what we know. Shin sites three successful examples of folks making science accessible to the public. (I’m in great company. Thanks, Paul!) Note: the others are relatively popular authors of current books. I just wasted 15 minutes dreaming up bad book ideas…somehow one of them reminded me to buy eggs and butter.
