Wow. Quite a panel discussion at Caltech on Friday! And the gorgeous weather didn’t hurt. The National Science Foundation, Discover Magazine, CalTech and the Thirty Meter Telescope partnered to host a very public discussion on the Mysteries of the Cosmos. Moderator, Phil Plait, describes the event here.  Look for the feature article in the May issue of Discover Magazine. Our first panel discussion, “Unlocking the Secrets of the Brain,” is the subject of a feature article in the current issue of Discover Magazine.
Here are some fun photos from the Caltech event: 1) Moderator Phil Plait (aka The Bad Astronomer) and I; 2) Panelist Saul Perlmutter and Discover’s Editor in Chief Corey Powell…I’m giving them ANOTHER cosmology lesson. Jeez! 🙂 3) Flat Stanley pays a visit to panelist Debra Fischer; 4) All the panelists and Ed Stone…Mike Brown’s in there. You know him, he’s the reason Pluto’s not a planet any more!
