Meet Miki, a cheerleader for the Las Vegas Locomotives who’s earning a B.S. in environmental science with a minor in solar and renewable energy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Miki and other Science Cheerleaders will be performing in Vegas tomorrow.
“My mother inspired me to consider a career in science. She had been been an environmental science major then switched to a degree in political science. She told me I should go for environmental studies when I couldn’t figure out a major and I remember telling her ‘that’s your dream mom!’ but ended up getting real interested in the topic myself.”
