Hi, it’s me, Jennifer! Earlier, in my SciCheer interview, I talked about my experience as a Tennessee Titans cheerleader and my passion for heat transfer and physics. Hey, what automotive engineer doesn’t? When you think of the mechanics of cars, you might think of speed (or velocity and acceleration). Well, these kinematics are also important to football. As NBC’s Lester Holt put it, “From big and bulldozing, to small and speedy, NFL running backs come in many shapes and sizes. But to succeed at football, all running backs must excel at kinematics, the branch of classical mechanics that defines how objects move.”
I guess that’s why the Science Cheerleader invited me to introduce this next Science of NFL Football segment, (part of a series produced in partnership with the National Science Foundation, NBC, and the NFL…SciCheer worked on it and is one of the approved distributors).
