Quest for a Living World.
Now THIS was a fun event. Great discussion (now featured in Discover and on DiscoverMagazine.com, see below). It’s also where I met some terrific Science Cheerleader fans!
From Discover Magazine: Bad Astronomy blogger Phil Plait moderates a panel discussion between astronomers who are searching for earthlike worlds elsewhere in the universe. The event cosponsors are Caltech, Discover, and Thirty Meter Telescope.

My (Los Angeles City College) students loved the event and had a great time meeting you! They were so impressed by the level of science- so understandable by anyone with great breadth in scope! They were also very impressed by how warm and generous you were to them. They figured that most folks who put on such events are kind of cold, but you put them at ease and help them feel like you really cared about them! This is the kind of outreach we need to continue to help bring more students into the comfort zone of science! Keep up the fantastic work at Discover- bringing such events to the public- and positively interacting with the public!
Cheers!
