Science Cheerleader Tracy has been busy! She helped lead the parents for the Plainfield, Illinois Pop Warner Saints (and Angels) cheer teams through the NASA Asteroid Initiative texting activity on September 7. The Angels are a special-needs cheerleading sister squad for the Saints. The Angels squad includes girls with cerebal palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, and other conditions. Tracy had this to report: “It was amazing; the Angels even go out at halftime right after the Saints and do their own performance. I made large and small trophies for the girls. The small trophies and goodie bags were given to each cheerleader for participating in the Asteroid Initiative that day and the trophies say ‘Future Science Cheerleader’ on them. The goodie bags had Smarties in them and say, ‘Keep shooting for the stars!’ The large trophy went to the squad leader.”
In addition to her Plainfield visit, Tracy even arranged for Chicagoland area Pop Warner teams to perform prior to a Chicago Bulls game!! Go Tracy! And thank you to the following Pop Warner teams for participating: Pop Warner Hillside Hurricanes, Pop Warner Genoa Mighty Cogs, Pop Warner Northwest Elite Lions, Pop Warner Tri-Town Raiders, Pop Warner Hoffman Estates Redhawks, and Pop Warner Bolingbrook Trojans!
And, at the Bulls game!
